How To Keep Your Cat Cool In The Summer

Regardless of whether you live in a really hot part of the country or a part of the country that is not-so-hot, summer can seem as if it is rough on your cat, and while your cat is probably better equipped for the heat than it seems to you at times, it is still nice when you can do some things to make the heat more bearable for them.

All that fur on your cat’s body will be the biggest bother of all for them, and even though you will certainly not want to give your cat a buzz cut, you can help the hair be less of a problem if you keep @@AMAZONTEXT;B0002AQUSE;a high quality cat comb@@ handy. As your cat sheds, a lot of this hair will remain on their body, which will continue to bother them in the heat, but with this cat comb handy, you will be able to remove a lot of this excess hair from your cat and help them to handle the summer better!

You should also consider giving your cat cold drinking water, instead of giving them room-temperature drinking water; it only takes a few extra seconds to add ice to your cat’s water as you change it out each day, and this will be a nice way for your cat to cool off throughout the day.

And for most cats, of course, sleep takes up a lot of their day, and while they enjoy being in the sun while they sleep during the winter, they are likely to look for cooler spots to sleep in during the summer; once your cat has established a few cooler spots they enjoy, do what you can to make these spots more comfortable and inviting for them, as this will entice them to make use of these cooler areas.

In the end, you can temper your concern for your cat, as its body will naturally take care of itself – but if you follow these tips, you will certainly be able to make the hot summer a better experience for your feline friend.
